I'm super excited that my screenplay CATCH THE BULLET was optioned and produced last summer. It was filmed in Buffalo, Wyoming, and now, I'm even more exited to see the release of the trailer! It's bitter sweet to me, as the star of the movie, Jay Pickett, died unexpectedly on set two weeks ago, as he was filming another western. He was a wonderful man, and while his passing has taken most of the joy out of the release of this movie, he delivered a fantastic performance and just nails the character. He was a true professional - and an expert rider.
Here is a write-up for the movie

And the studio has a very cool page for the movie on their website

While the script was not discovered here on Script Revolution, I am very grateful to CJ for the great advice and support he has shown me during this whole process. It's been a roller coaster ride to be sure!
Wow, just WOW! I'm excited for you, Jerry, and very impressed! Congratulations on having a screenplay produced. The trailer was gripping!
The sudden death of Mr. Pickett no doubt puts a damper on the movie release, but it must be gratifying knowing he thought it was "his best performance yet." You wrote the screenplay that gave him that feeling, that connection with a character. So powerful! Celebrate the good--you deserve it.
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Andrea!
It's been so exciting to follow this. Not only has a friend written it but a stunt-coordinator from our last feature has a role in it. I love it when everything links up.
This is such a huge win for you, Jerry. Jay went out on a high and I'm sure, as fellow artists, we can all relate to how important that is.
Huge congrats!
This is awesome, Jerry! Can't wait to watch the film. The trailer looks fabulous!
Thank you David and Gary!
Way to go cowboy! Kudos!
Congratulations, Jerry.
As far as I know yourself and CJ are the only two on this site that have had their features produced with recognizable talent and producers. So, I was wondering what probably everyone is wondering... how much did you get paid? I know it's an awkward question and I totally understand if you don't want to answer. That said, I'm not asking for the exact sum, just how many figures?
I got five figures for my first film. It's a bit more complicated now as I'm a producing partner on my latest films and thus have significant participation.
Thanks for sharing, CJ.
Hi Lance - I got a percentage of the budget for the script - so everything worked out great.
Thanks, Jerry.
Late to the party - but congrats! Wishing you nothing but success on your next endeavor!
Jerry - Post belated congratulations from moi.
Thanks, Stephen and Derek :)
Late I know - but congrats!
