Fantastic Books Press have recently published my screenwriting memoir titled 'Fizzy Days and Plastic Monkeys: from Crewe to Malibu' It's my autobiographical account of my forays into the world of film of over 30+ years via screenwriting and storyboarding. A world set between the US and the UK. It's a cautionary tale for any wanna-be screenwriter or filmmaker that aspires to see their work on the big screen. It’s about attempting to make a comedy feature film set around ownership of a little motorbike of the early 70s glam of the UK. The book is published by Fantastic Books Publishing UK and available on Amazon in the US too. I thought Script Revolution scribes might be interested.
'If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to try and make a movie and see your work on the big screen Fizzy Days and Plastic Monkeys–from Crewe to Malibu is for you. Illustrator Mark Millicent has worked for production studios large and small from Disney to Warner Brothers to RSA and ABC. Throughout, he has nurtured a long-held dream to make a film and see it on the big screen. He charts a rollercoaster ride of dizzy heights and stomach-lurching lows in his journey from fitting tires in small-town Crewe in the UK to chasing his dreams in big-town Hollywood in the USA.
Using his own brand of tongue-in-cheek humor to bask in what it truly means to become embedded in the business of making a small independent movie in the glamorous land of movie-making between the UK and USA.
One of the scripts I mention in the book and is on this on the site 'The Fishing Lure' was recently optioned last week by a UK production co. That has a good recent track record Looking forward to seeing if it goes anywhere.
