May sound like an obvious one, but what are the more click-worthy subject lines to use for query emails?
Obviously leaving it blank is bad, as well as getting your research wrong and going with 'Seeking representation' to a producer.
I've only just started to actually seek representation. Have three screenplays that I'm really happy with, my latest 'Slipshod' the most.
Any advice on subject lines or other finer points in the query process?
Thanks guys

See above post...
Never use the word "query" in your subject line.
Go by whatever the producer/production company wants. Many have websites that will say, word for word, what they want in an email. Many more just want a title, genre, and maybe the screenwriter's name. There's also interviews online from a lot of different producers that you can look up.
American producers see what us writers call a query, a pitch. Canadian producers often want the genre and type of script, so they can know the budget right away. Find out who want to talk to, go from there. All emails, no matter what you decide is best for your script, are conversation starters.
It's a great question.
Here is an interesting article related to literary agents:

As ever, I feel this is one of those things there's little consensus on. There's going to be people out there who want everything structured and clear so they can sort through their inbox and there will be those who mark anything with the word query in it as spam.
For me, wavelength is the critical factor in any form of networking. We're all looking for alignment. Your vibe/tone is going to align with some well and contrast with others badly. That's life. You just need to make sure you are giving off an authentic vibe so you don't go too far down a road with the wrong people. That itself is going to dictate the style of your communications and how you approach people.
Business networking is a lot like dating. Everyone has their needs, wants, and tastes so there's no real one-shot solution that will work every time, not unless you have something so attractive most people can't resist.
Well said, CJ
Ah, yes, the ultimate conundrum for any creative.
Creatives: But, but, I have the most irresistible script!
Everyone else: Yeaaah, no you don't.
Creatives: Collective whimper.
