Biography:
Alexander Tomov - junior was born on June 3rd,1982 in Sofia, Bulgaria. He was attracted to literature from a young age, which was influenced by his family environment. Both his parents are writers, and his father is also a screenwriter in Bulgarian cinema. Tomov Jr. was strongly attracted to poetry and prose. He made his first attempts as a writer in his early teens, first with poems and then with short stories. He currently has several self-published short story books in English.
In recent years, Alexander Tomov Jr. acts as a freelance screenwriter and director.
The main themes in his work are borderline situations, absurdism, black humor and the grotesque, mystery, dramatic life plots, psychopathology, and alienation, which often accompany his characters. The stories in his films are presented in a simple and easily accessible way for the general public. The characters in them often face the eternal Shakespearean hesitation "To be or not to be". Tomov Jr. likes to mix and intertwine the opposite categories of good and evil, the boundaries of which in his films often blur and are a matter of perspective and personal interpretation. In 2022, he participated in a competition in Bulgaria for his full-length debut feature film - "A Tale of Life, Death, and Anger". He also makes constant attempts to appear abroad with his short films.
