Warsaw, Poland

In a place like post-War Poland, an artist learns to punt… especially if you relish life, and poking and prodding the human element as much as I do.  I initially set out to be a movie director but found myself blacklisted during Poland’s martial law decade.  So, once the wall came down, I went into advertising.  From 1990 to 2001, I worked as Creative Director making about 30 commercials as film director in a leading ad agency.  But eventually and happily I found my way back to my first love: films, not as a director, but just about as good: a scriptwriter.

My résumé of produced screenplays includes:

The Blind Man’s Game – 110 min. feature film, written and directed by D. W. Rettinger

TV series Ekipa –   The Team, directed by Agnieszka Holland, 2007

TV Series Hungry for Love – directed by Anna Kazejak

TV Series Sisters – directed by Jerzy Nowak

TV Series The Warsaw Pact – co-writer, directed by Kasia Adamik, 2011

Time of Darkness – feature film, directed by Gregory Kuczeriszka, 2005

A Million Dollars – feature film, directed by Janusz Kondratiuk, 2010

TV Series – Deep Water – directed by Magda Lazarkiewicz, 2011-2013

Stones On The Wall – feature film directed by Robert Glinski, 2014

Karski – TV theatre, directed Magda Lazarkiewicz, aired December 2014

War is My Love – TV theatre, directed Wojciech Nowak, aired November 2017

A Dog with a Cat – feature film directed by Janusz Kondratiuk; shot in 2017 w/ premiere this September (2018)

Theatrical play: Psychothera-politics – a political comedy, won the National Competition Polish Comedy Theatre, 2010, staged in: Lodz, Poland, Ostrawa, Czech Republic, Bratislava, Slovakia, and Bucharest, Romania.

Currently Head Writer for the 2nd season of TV series Ultraviolet, AXN TV.

In what is a second way of feeding my need to direct the action, I have also written 8 published novels to date: Brainman (2013), Jonathan (2013), Classmates (2014), The Elite (2014), The Falcon (2015), The Faith and the Throne (2016), Talismans (2017), Kommando Puff (2018).

I always have ideas bubbling in my brain – trust me!
