Dwayne Conyers completed undergraduate studies prior to entering the United States Air Force as a Second Lieutenant. He supported the Commander in Chief, United States Air Forces in Europe, briefing high ranking officials, including Sen. Gordon Humphrey (R-NH), Rep. Patricia Schroeder (D-CO), NATO Officials and French Air Force Officers. He was most proud to support the White House as an Information Technology consultant.
During his assignments, he found opportunities to express his creative side; writing and producing training videos and audiovisual briefings. These were widely distributed throughout the Air Force, to two US Army Commands, and to one US Navy Fleet. He left the military just prior to pinning on a below-the-zone promotion to Major.
He continued to develop his screenwriting skills, graduating top of his class in the Warner Bros. Comedy Writers Workshop with Samm-Art Williams. He also studied screenwriting with Mark Lapadula at the University of Pennsylvania, Luigi DiFonzo at Harvard, Michael Hague, and Carl Sautter.
He accepted an offer to spend a year in the Republic of Singapore producing interactive training videos with British and Singaporean crew. Back to the USA, he was executive producer of the independent film “High Point” (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0273649/). Concurrently, his writing won numerous honors, including:
Top Ten Screenwriter, Cinequest Film Festival, (2011)
Featured Screenwriter, Beverly Hills Film Festival, (2010)
Second Place Screenplay, OBS Screenplay Competition, (2009)
