I am a retired police detective and hostage negotiator, as well as an educator of at-risk incarcerated juveniles and adults. Additionally, I pursue my passion as an indie writer. With the success of my second novel, "Hitting Rock Bottom," which became a bestseller on Amazon, I continue to delve into writing, creating a compelling female protagonist named FBI Agent Jeannie Loomis. Jeannie is a dedicated law enforcement officer with flaws, believing that the ends justify the means. If you're a fan of John Stanford's Lucas Davenport character in the Prey novels, you'll find Jeannie to be the equivalent.
So far, I have completed ten novels in the thrilling adventure/action genre, with my latest work titled "Rollercoaster" now published. The success of these novels inspired me to venture into the art of screenwriting. I have already adapted five of the Loomis novels into screenplays, hoping, like all authors, to see them come to life on the big screen. I recently completed my first horror genre script based on the classic House on Haunted Hill which starred the late great Vincent Price. Through guidance from two exceptional mentors, I have honed my ability to differentiate between writing a novel and writing a screenplay.
As a baby boomer, I yearn for the blockbuster movies of the past. Remember films like "The Rock," "Indiana Jones," "Titanic," "The Great Escape," "The Magnificent Seven," "Jaws," "Star Wars," and even beloved TV series like "Red Skelton," "Zorro," and "Hogan's Heroes." And who can deny the enduring success of the James Bond franchise?
I am one of those individuals who goes to the movies to be entertained by thrilling adventures, akin to those found in Lara Croft or the movie "Troy." Yes, I am showing my age (lol), but I firmly believe that there is a vast group of baby boomers who long for a return to the excellence of those cinematic classics for their enjoyment. Hopefully, a producer will recognize this sentiment and take an interest in my work.
Recently, my scripts "Hitting Rock Bottom" and "The Phantom Train" became quarterfinalists in the Emerging Screenwriters competition. I invite you to consider reading my scripts and hope you'll find them enjoyable.
