I won my first writing award in 1996, when I was at school. Since then I've had a very colorful route back into writing, full time.
Since I left school I've lived in London, Tenerife, Manchester, Prague, and Chicago. I've been a laboror, club-singer, watchmaker, office manager, admin assistant, bingo caller, martial arts instructor, barman, cook, factory worker, retail assistant, and High School teacher. During those years, I continued to write short stories, scripts, and poems.
In 2013 I wrote my first full play, Boy Soldiers, which was performed at the Imperial War Museum North. I went back to university in 2014 to study screenwriting, and filmmaking / production. The course was taught by genuine experts, and the knowledge I gained there has been invaluable. Whilst at University I started a small company, and made a short genre radio series, for children. I produced 5 full cast productions and marketed so that the series was broadcast across several radio stations throughout the entire United KIngdom. I also won the Bolton Creative Award 2015, for a screenplay I wrote about racism and social anxiety.
Since 2014 I have worked as a Script Editor on the professional stage production, 'The Dead, Live!' I have written and produced a short film, 'We The People', which is currently Finalist in Festival, at The Mobile International Film Festival 2018. I have written two more stage plays, (one of which was produced in Rochdale, UK). I have also co-written the pilot to a television comedy series, entitled 'Ada', which placed in the top 17% of BBC Writers Room entries, in 2017.
I have one comedy feature screenplay currently in Hollywood, under development, as of 2018.
I am looking for opportunities to improve my craft, and add value to projects with the skills, knowledge, and unique life experience I have,
