Michael William Hogan was an accomplished advertising and marketing executive when he made a career decision to leave corporate life in pursuit of success as a screenwriter. While he never stopped honing the craft, his plan was altered for several years as he attended to serious health issues with his wife. By 2019, he again was free to fully-dedicate his time to the new profession.
He wrote and polished numerous feature and short scripts; submitting several to competitions as one means of gauging their worth. That netted over 200 screenwriting awards in 2020/2021 and in January 2021 he directed “Breaking & Entering”, a provocative and edgy drama short based on his script that garnered 24 “Best Short Screenplay” awards. Since hitting the festival circuit in July 2021, Breaking & Entering has won over 20 “Best” short film awards; and earned Michael more than a dozen “Best Director” accolades.
With "Breaking & Entering" as a launch pad, Michael has set his sights on getting four of his favorably-covered and polished feature screenplays into development: "Sebastian and the Invisible Island" (4Q Sci-Fi/Fantasy); "The Near-Death Experience of Dr. John Dantry"' (Faith-Based Drama); "Benny B" (4Q Sci-Fi/Comedy); and "Hunger" (Thriller/Horror).
