Milethia Thomas
Milethia hails from England and works as a communication support worker/teaching assistant. She is an active writer, often to be found writing beyond the 'witching hour', and has placed in semi-finalist and finalist stages of competitions. In 2011 she was the joint winner of the London Screenwriters Festival - "Four Nights in August" - competition and was able to experience the different approaches/interpretations that filmmakers took when filming the short script. Anil Rao's version of the script won the best film - https://vimeo.com/30941061. Presently, Milethia is one of 50 writers selected as winners of Create50's 'The Impact' - http://theimpact.create50.com/theimpact; the film making stage is now open - closes end of June 2018. This is an opportunity for filmmakers to be involved in creating a feature film using scripts that have been written as a response to the same premise. At the end of 2017 she worked with a film making team and filmed a version of her script. As well as writing screenplays, she writes plays - highly commended in the Trinity College playwriting competition in 2014, shortlisted in Chesil Theatre's David Bowie inspired short play competition 2016 and has a monologue included in a play about women in film -The Female Gaze - which will be shown in 2019. She is also a published short story writer. When not writing, she likes to Lindy Hop, tap dance and Jive.
