Rahil Patel, a film graduate and a self-taught writer was born and raised in the cosmopolitan city of Baroda, situated in Gujarat. He began his filmmaking journey right after accomplishing his MA in Film Production and Business Management from The University of Glamorgan, U.K.  His credits as a 1st Assistant Director include films like Dedh Ishqiya (2014), Udta Punjab (2016), Matru ki Bijlee ka Mandola(2013) and 7 Khoon Maaf (2011). Besides, he has been active directing Spec Ads, some of which have won awards internationally. He has been the second unit director on critically acclaimed movies: Sonchiriya and Raat Akeli Hai and a popular Indian Amazon Prime Series Made In Heaven. His independent work not only won him a few awards internationally but also gave him the opportunity to pen his own scripts. Rahil has co-written two unproduced scripts to his credit.
