A young American couple, TREVOR (20’s) and ERICA (20’s), are on an auto tour through Europe. On a dark, rainy night while driving through the Black Forest of Germany, their rental car unexpectedly breaks down. Unable to restart it and with no cell service, they set foot along the remote and deserted road.
The young couple soon reach a side road, noticing but unable to translate the words “Selbstmord Strasse” (“suicide street”) spray painted on a stone pillar. Seeing no buildings ahead on the main road, they follow their flashlight beam down the side street, eventually coming upon a large decrepit old house.
The house is as dark as the night and no one answers their knocks. Creeped out and ready to return to their car, the front door slowly creeks open. The blackness of what waits inside absorbs the beam of their light.
