Synopsis/Details:

Ramona Wilson is a struggling Chicago waitress who once gave up a promising journalism career in order to take care of her ailing mother. With her life in shambles and the holidays just around the corner, Ramona gets an unexpected opportunity: the chance to run a newspaper in a small Southern town.

With a new lease on life, Ramona excitedly heads to the tiny Christmas-obsessed town of Greenville, Tennessee. Upon discovering that her office is located inside a barn, she quickly realizes that running a small-town paper isn’t as exciting (nor as romantic) as she’d imagined.

When not contending with barnyard smells, decrepit outhouses and an overdose of holiday cheer, Ramona must deal with her high-maintenance staff: Zack, a young computer whiz with purple hair; Buck, a tractor-driving farmer who struggles as the paper’s photographer; and Two Moons, the ace reporter who leaves his stories in a hole in a tree. What’s worse, Ramona has difficulty finding legitimate news stories in Greenville. Among her big news items: a lost ballcap and a prize catfish.

Ramona also has issues with Mayor Stroud, who owns the paper. Rather than helping her learn the ropes, he spends his time patrolling the streets with his trusty broom, daring anyone to toss litter onto his precious sidewalks during Christmas.

Only Cecil, a shy, ruggedly handsome bait shop owner, provides Ramona some occasional solace. But despite their mutual attraction – and the fact that they constantly run into each other – Cecil mysteriously keeps her at arm’s length.

Further complicating matters, Ramona must contend with the rival newspaper, whose editor decides to wage war against the newcomer.

Ramona perseveres, however, and ultimately revives the town's newspaper while finding contentment, healing and possibly even love during her magical Greenville Christmas. So when she is offered her dream job as a reporter at Chicago's top newspaper, the decision to leave Greenville becomes more difficult than she'd imagined.
