Synopsis/Details

At the ruins of Croxden Abbey, archaeologist Evelyn Shaw unearths a sealed Templar codex that begins to write itself, revealing the lost testament of Sir Rowan de Vale. In 1307, as the Templar Order burns, Rowan flees Jaffa carrying a stone casket said to contain the blood of Richard the Lionheart—a relic of divine kingship and terrible power. Pursued by the fanatical inquisitor Father Alain d’Argent, Rowan and his companions Maud and Rashid cross a Europe collapsing into plague, war and betrayal, haunted by the toll of unseen bells. As faith fractures and the relic’s influence grows, Rowan must decide whether to protect England’s most sacred secret or bury it forever. Centuries later, Evelyn realises the relic still lies beneath English soil—and that some echoes never fade.
