Synopsis/Details
On a remote offshore oil rig in the North Atlantic, a routine drilling operation begins to show signs of instability as pressure readings spike and safety concerns are raised. Eliana Navarro, a disciplined and safety-focused operator, pushes for caution, but corporate pressure from above demands the operation continue. When the drill breaches an uncharted pocket beneath the seabed, the rig is immediately compromised.
What emerges is not mechanical failure, but something alive. Creatures begin moving through the structure, drawn to sound and vibration, spreading quickly through flooded compartments and darkened corridors. As systems fail and communication becomes unreliable, the crew is forced to adapt, learning that even the smallest movement or noise can be fatal.
Internal conflict escalates alongside the external threat. Leadership fractures, decisions become more extreme, and survival overrides protocol. As sections of the rig are sealed and others collapse under pressure, the survivors are pushed into increasingly desperate situations. Eliana, forced to abandon procedure, takes control as the reality becomes clear: the rig is no longer sustainable.
In the final act, with escape routes gone and the structure beyond recovery, the only remaining option is to use the drill itself as a destructive force. In doing so, the crew creates a last chance at survival, sacrificing the rig to draw the threat away long enough to escape.
