Richard Pierce made a career for himself hiding the lies of powerful congressmen from the public. When a scandal gets out he finds himself out of work. The mayor of Willow Ridge reaches out and offers Pierce a job as the Coroner. Pierce soon learns that the job entails spinning lies about the causes of death. A supernatural masked killer known as the Butcher is on the rampage against the tourist population that visit this small community.
