The story is about Princess Destiny whose only ambition is to become an acrobat. But when she is forcibly shapeshifted into an alien girl, half her age, and teleported away by a scheming Prime Minister, she discovers what life outside her castle really is and what friendship means. All this, thanks to a motley bunch of outcast teenagers who’ve rescued her. And, with whom she also learns to humble herself. Now, she is expected to seal the Intergalactic Alliance with her impending arranged marriage. So, after she meets Ethan Spader, a rogue bounty hunter, she tricks him in a poker game to win his loyalty. Thus, Ethan must help her break into the most sophisticated vault in the galaxy and steal the shapeshifter serum she needs. Even if he can’t fathom how she can act so grown-up, and how she can devise what seems like the perfect heist plan.
Even so, the operation encounters complications. And, when Destiny realizes that the serum is useless without a DNA chip held by Arkon, she needs Ethan to fly her home in time to set things right and prevent war, no matter her appearance. In desperation, Destiny reveals her royal status and actual age. Ethan doesn’t believe her, takes his reward, and leaves her on her own.
At a loss, Destiny now learns that Arkon deputizes her father who is in a coma! Worried sick for him, she deeply regrets having disobeyed and run away from her obligations. As she looks for a way to get back home, she is chased by two groups of goons, who are after her for the shape-shifter serum, and the poker money. Whereas she manages to fend them off, Ethan realizes he cares for Destiny and decides to fly her to Stellanor. She hides her burgeoning feelings for him as they race back home.
Since Destiny has learnt that it is not the vessel that counts but its engine, she chooses the cure Arkon actually has for her father and discards the DNA chip he offers her. Which is a devious plan to marry her. Just like the fact he throws Ethan in the tigers' den. Destiny gets the circus performers’ help after convincing them that she is the princess. Once saved, Ethan, helps her capture Arkon.
She then morphs back to her true form – much to the king’s joy and Ethan’s amazement! Still, Destiny resolves she must go through her arranged marriage for the sake of the Alliance and the greater good. Sacrificing her two passions, Ethan and the circus. Her father is proud of her. Ethan storms off.
A miserable Destiny reaches the altar to find the bride exulting. The contrast questions their union as a symbol of universal concord. Hence, professing that love is the root to everything, Destiny persuades the Prince to plant a tree instead. Confident about the future of the galaxy, the king allows Destiny to catch up with the Intergalactic Circus Tour.
Destiny flies away. Heartsick though since Ethan’s departure. Later on, while checking her show equipment, humming Ethan’s favorite song, she hears a voice echoing the tune. She turns and sees Ethan’s most winning smile.
