At the Carlson Grand Hotel in Miami, two desk clerks, Elijah Linfield and his girlfriend Alissa, work under the ruthless order of Carolyn Swartz, the hotel's general manager, who demands perfection from the two despite the hotel's dismal condition. After a strange earthquake rocks the building one morning, a mysterious couple known as the Browns check in. Their odd behavior begins raising a few brows, as the hotel prepares for the arrival of Michael Bublé, for a special event honoring people who've had cancer. As the staff makes the final preparations, a mysterious man by the name of Blair Morehouse, who claims to be a hotel inspector, arrives and orders Carolyn to show him around. Meanwhile, Norma Van Peters, discovers the abuse that Mr. Brown has giving his wife, rescues her from his clutches, and tries to usher her to safety. Blair intervenes, reveals himself to be an FBI agent, working for a secret division that specializes in extraditing supernatural creatures. The people in question? The Browns, who quickly reveal that they are diplomats from another world, sent to Earth by their ruler to establish peace relations with the planet's most powerful leaders. As time ticks down, Mr. Brown, admitting he has become complacent, refuses to leave, stating he'd rather let his leaders destroy the planet, then leaving on his accord. The group manage to hatch a plan as Michael, and the evening's other special guests arrive, with some notables being cancer survivors Kylie Minogue, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Jane Fonda. As the event begins, Alissa, with the help of Sydney (a neurosurgeon on vacation from New York), lure Mr. Brown out of his suite, as Elijah and the rest of the staff, anxiously wait the arrival of the Brown's leader. The two women eventually coax Mr. Brown out, using his pet cat as bait, as his planet's leader, Chancellor Roddenberry arrives with two his most trusted associates, Lucas and Newman, both complete polar opposites from each other. While Elijah, Blair, and Carolyn manage to distract the Chancellor with Michael's performance, Mrs. Brown and the hotel's kitchen staff give Mr. Brown the feast of a lifetime. As Mr. Brown realizes he may have gone too far, Lucas, locates him, tries to force him to leave. Before he can agree, Blair, with the help of Elijah and some other special guests, manage to subdue Lucas, as Mr. Brown reluctantly hands himself over and makes amends with his wife. The resulting aftermath of Elijah's plan, leads to the hotels inevitable closure, and Elijah and his pals out of the job. Chancellor Roddenberry however, impressed with his performance, offers him a job on his home planet. Elijah agrees, manages to get him to offer one to Alissa, and the three aliens, along with the Browns, depart Earth. The following morning, as the remaining hotel staff part ways, Carolyn begins her new job at the FBI's Supernatural Division, with Blair, where, somewhere in a mall in Pennsylvania, a diabolical figure emerges.
