From the award-winning writer of critically acclaimed indie-thriller, “The Suicide Theory” and 2020’s Aussie-thriller, “Rage”, comes this twisted, blood-soaked tale of vengeance that will have viewers second-guessing themselves the next time they think about not leaving a tip.
“Don’t Forget to Tip Your Waiter...”
Our tale begins one morning when STELLA, a bisexual, African American waitress, brutally murders her alcoholic cop husband after years of torment and abuse. Afraid to call the police, she tries to just go about her day as usual when her co-worker and secret lover, MATILDA, comes to pick her up for work.
Throughout the course of her shift at the diner, Stella’s mental condition continuously spirals as she’s constantly taunted and sexually harassed by her racist and homophobic male co-workers. Even her annoying, micro-managing boss gets in on it. Barely clinging to sanity, Stella’s also taunted by hallucinations of her dead husband. But it’s when she meets a customer named BUFORD BLUMPKIN that she reaches her breaking point…
Buford, a devoted husband and father, isn’t having the best of days. Struggling to support his wife, GERTRUDE, and 15-year old son, NEWTON, he’s had difficulty landing a steady job. And today’s no different when he gets rejected yet again after another unsuccessful interview. Not in the best of moods, he sits down for lunch at a local diner where he and Stella’s worlds collide.
Buford’s unpleasantness rubs Stella the wrong way, each cutting remark during their encounter slowly chipping away at her already-shattered psyche. He continuously nags her for a side of honey mustard, which he never receives.
When he gets his bill, instead of writing a tip on the credit card receipt, he just writes “Honey Mustard” and storms off – this triggers Stella into a violent, psychotic trance.
Later that night, while watching the news, Buford finds out that everyone at the diner was brutally murdered. Even worse, Stella, the main suspect, is still at large.
Buford’s night quickly goes from bad to worse when he and his family find themselves fighting for their lives when Stella pays a visit to their home in the middle of the woods. However, as the night violently unfolds, things take a truly bizarre and unexpected turn once it’s revealed that Buford and his family aren’t exactly who we think they are...
