Synopsis/Details

Based on my novel with the same title, "House on Haunted Hill: Resurrection" is a contemporary reimagining of the iconic Vincent Price horror film. After serving a twenty-year sentence for his wife's murder in the notorious House on Haunted Hill, Frederick Loren decides to host another haunted house party with a sinister agenda—to expose several self-proclaimed psychics as frauds. Seven individuals, each harboring their own sins, eagerly accept Loren's invitation, enticed by the promise of a $100,000 prize if they survive the night.
Unbeknownst to the guests, the mansion's previous owner, Watson Pritchard, firmly believes in its haunted nature, and his convictions prove chillingly accurate. The malevolent spirit of Inquisitor Torquemada, along with his bloodthirsty henchmen, awakens from its slumber after years of dormancy, fixating its supernatural wrath on the unsuspecting guests.
Soon after their arrival, the guests discover the sinister truth—they are trapped inside the house until morning, with no electricity, Internet, or cell phone reception. The windows are barred, and the doors are impenetrable steel. Unsettling events quickly unfold, with guests vanishing one by one in the labyrinthine corridors of the haunted house.
As the vengeful ghosts grow increasingly active, the remaining guests embark on a desperate quest to find a means of escape, all while Frederick Loren's hidden cameras capture the night's terror, intending to expose the fraudulent psychics. But as the house's sinister forces close in, survival takes precedence over unveiling the truth, and the guests must confront their deepest fears and unravel the secrets that bind them to the House on Haunted Hill.

The Writer: Gary Rose

I’m an multi-optioned screenwriter who, in a previous life, served as a police detective, mastering the delicate art of negotiating hostage situations. Retirement led me down a different path—teaching and writing—a journey that began with my first non-fiction book, which became an Amazon best-seller. That success ignited my passion for storytelling and introduced the world to my indomitable protagonist, FBI agent Jeannie Loomis. Believing that the ends justify the means, Jeannie has become the heart of a gripping 18-novel thriller series. My historical fiction script The Beautiful Beast was selected as a quarter-finalist in the 2025 PAGE competition. The Phantom Train script was selected in… Go to bio
