Logline:
After his wife's funeral, an on-demand driver reaches out to passengers about his grief, but none of them care or have time to talk about it.
Synopsis/Details:

The title of the script has a double meaning.

This script has potential to be a longer project (feature script, T.V. series, etc.).

Drama short script (for sale or option)

Budget: Micro-budget

Pages: Nine

Tagline: Passengers aren't the only ones who need a lift.

Theme: Take time to talk to someone because everyone is going through something.

Synopsis:

Ryan White (35) gets home from his wife's funeral, lonely and depressed. He tries to find someone to talk with about his grief, but no one is available.

Ryan goes to work as an on-demand driver (somewhat like “Uber” or “Lyft”). He tries to talk with his customers about his grief, but they either don’t care, or they have their own problems.

Ryan picks up a businesswoman named Sunshine Sanders (34). He breaks down and cries. Sunshine wants to talk with him about his grief, but her life is falling apart, so she doesn't think she can give counsel to anyone, and she's in a rush for a big dinner meeting with a big potential client. She eventually agrees to talk with him.

Ryan drops Sunshine off at the restaurant for her dinner meeting. They exchange contact information so they can stay in contact.

As Ryan gets off work, he receives a call from Sunshine. She got the client! They share a short, touching conversation related to the script’s title.

Ryan's final words to the script's readers are, “We’re all going through something, so take time to talk to someone.” End of Synopsis.

Cast: Two major characters and five minor characters (one minor character is the wife, who's only shown in an obituary).

Setting and Locations: Present day; seven locations but most of the story takes place inside of Ryan’s car. There are three scenes outside of Ryan’s house. He picks up passengers from three houses. He also parks at a stop sign and at a curve in a neighborhood during the script. There is one quick scene inside/outside of Ryan's car at a restaurant.

Thanks for hearing my pitch. The script and full script rights are available for purchase (very low price) or option (very low option fee).

Some of the short scripts that I'm selling/optioning have potential to be longer projects (feature scripts, T.V. series, etc.). My Writing Bio: I'm an experienced, non-union screenwriter who writes within various budgets and genres. I mainly write micro-budget scripts and low-budget scripts. I love to create and write strong, flawed characters and unique stories. I strive to write scenes that haven't been written and seen before. I've written many scripts over twelve years (short, feature, book to script adaptation, T.V., web-series, Public Service Announcement, radio, commercial, and anthology). I've written scripts based off the ideas of various directors and producers, and I've rewritten... Go to bio
