Synopsis/Details

Henry lives alone in a suburban home. He is haunted by an incident from his past in which a young woman was killed and an innocent man took the blame. Meanwhile the window in the spare room bangs and knocks against the sill. Jane arrives at his door and enquires about the spare room to rent. Henry feels compelled to rent it to her. During her time in the house Jane tortures Henry emotionally, mentioning key phrases and alluding to the tragic event, even taking on the persona of the young woman who was killed. When Jane has to leave for a few days, Henry gets drunk and goes upstairs to the spare room in a bid to end his torment. Jane enters and reveals Henry is already dead and is re-living this one day forever unless he absolves the innocent man in some way. Henry says he wrote a note explaining everything. A gust of wind from the open window blows it behind the dresser. Jane closes the window, the house is transformed back into the empty house it has been ever since Henry began haunting it and she finds the note. It is revealed Jane is a ghost hunter and this is just another job in laying the dead to rest.

Occasionally the big time calls...then it shuts up for a while and I get back to writing.. I held down a fairly steady job at one time as books and films reviewer for a British teen magazine before it bit the dust as magazines are wont to do these days.I was shortlisted (or long-listed, I'm not quite sure) for playwright of the year on BBC local radio which was promising. More recently one of my radio plays was chosen for broadcast by Ocean City Radio and Chesil Theatre shortlisted one of my plays for… Go to bio
