Synopsis/Details:

The screenplay was inspired by the novel “In Perfect Light,” by Pen/Faulkner award-winning author Benjamin Saenz. It was written with his permission.

In the story, an explosive act of violence brings together a young police officer accused of murder, and a therapist diagnosed with cancer. Their lives unravel as they discover the chains of their past are interwoven. One can’t escape the dark brutally of his childhood, and the other longs to reconnect with her son before her turn in the world is over.

There is vibrant mix of diverse characters. From a drug-running nightclub owner and a transgender entertainer to a loving couple desperately wanting to have a child in their life. Ultimately, we learn that when it comes to our past, the only chains that bind us are those we chose to wear ourselves.

I was born in California, and grew up in Compton. I have a B.A. in photo-journalism. I've worked in television and later as a professional photographer and designer. When it was time for a career change, I earned a master's degree in Library Science. Now I work as a photo archivist at a Texas University. Currently, I'm writing my 5th screenplay and my first novel. When my turn in the world is over, I want to be remembered as, "a generous man who lived an interesting life, and left everyone with a story to tell." Go to bio
