Until now, everyone believed all Indian Leopards and Tigers were extinct. Trophy Hunters hit India for the last grand prize after reports of fresh Leopard tracks. No one knows a Tiger with attitude has for years eluded the hunters. The Leopard's name is Prince, the Tiger Khan.
This tragedy began when elderly Indian cat expert Kashgar mentioned some Leopard pad marks to an animal conservationist, not realizing Prince is the Leopard he raised after his parents were killed. The crooked conservationist sold this confidential information to female trophy hunter Billionaire Bridget Gingold.
Gingold uses every dirty trick to reduce the opposition and claim the last grand prize. Her business enemy also wants a Leopard for his trophy room. At 7,800 feet, Thadius Crunkhorn has positioned his team in two tents crammed with monitors in a Himalayan valley he believes this Leopard will use. The vast Mount Nanda Devi and the Valley of the Flowers is a protected park. But he doesn't care.
By accident, Prince is amazed when he and Khan meet at a water hole and team up. Joining them is Mortimer, a fast talking crow, and Babu, a near blind former working elephant on their trek. They set out on an impossible journey north to the snow country. Prince has to search the Himalayas for a Snow Leopard, Khan heads for Siberia, a daunting task. Both must find others of their kind to mate to preserve their species. Gingold, using her satellite and high-tech tracking gear to find Prince, discovers Khan. Now her private army gives chase. She will stop at nothing to hang both heads in her trophy room.
Kashgar with Wanderer - his tame Eagle scouting high above the tree canopy and grandson Rawal need all their jungle craft to help these two cats. They are sandwiched between the cats and Gingold, risking their lives with false pad imprints and scents to help these cool cats on their perilous journey. But the satellites have theirs, Prince and Khan's signatures. Despite many close shaves, Kashgar's jungle craft manages - by the skin of his teeth to side-step Gingold. Kashgar doesn't know about Crunkhorn.
At the foot of the Himalayas, Wanderer has assembled the biggest flock of raptors and birds ever seen. High above with spread wings, they try to block out any chance of Gingold and Crunkhorn's satellites beaming the cat's position to their receivers. The birds' succeed; the cats make it through a high-pass known only to animals. They hug each other and promise to meet up again next spring.
Gingold and her private army are arrested, tossed in jail, and charged with trespassing in the protected park. A seasonal blizzard blast across Nada Devi, causing an Avalanche Crunkhorn, and his team's fate is doomed. A year later, as snows melt, two adult Leopards and three cubs roll in the flowers. They stop as the unfamiliar roar of a Tiger echos down the valley.
Placed 3 in an Intertnational competition. Reader xomment; I like the idea of Humans vs Animals.
