Synopsis/Details
Following the devastating fall of Charleston in 1780, the American Revolution in the South appears all but lost. British forces sweep across South Carolina with brutal efficiency, hanging rebels, burning farms, and crushing organized resistance wherever it appears.
But deep within the blackwater swamps of the Carolina low country, one man refuses to surrender.
Colonel Francis Marion — a quiet, disciplined militia commander later known as “The Swamp Fox” — begins waging an unconventional war against the British Empire. Striking supply convoys, ambushing patrols, and disappearing into the wilderness before retaliation can arrive, Marion transforms the swamp into a living battlefield.
As British cavalry commander Banastre Tarleton becomes increasingly obsessed with destroying Marion and his elusive fighters, the conflict evolves into far more than a military campaign. The swamps themselves begin eroding British morale through fever, exhaustion, fear, and relentless uncertainty. Every road becomes a trap. Every tree line hides danger. Every night belongs to the rebels.
While General Washington fights the larger war to the north, Marion’s guerrilla resistance quietly bleeds the British Southern Campaign from within, helping prevent the Crown from ever fully securing the Carolinas.
Blending historical authenticity, psychological warfare, and atmospheric survival drama, Swamp Fox tells the untold story of how ordinary farmers, hunters, and patriots turned one of America’s harshest landscapes into a weapon powerful enough to challenge an empire.
