North Pole Fashions Incorporated has been providing specialist magical tailoring to the North Pole since 1888 – but standards have slipped. Boss from hell SIMONE SINCLAIR is cutting corners and the company is losing money. Worse, talented designer REBECCA GRANGER hasn’t been able to create anything magical since her mom, also a designer at the company, passed away two years ago. SANTA sends ELF MERRY to New York to inspect the workshop and issue an ultimatum: either they come up with a brand-new range of high-end elf couture by Christmas Eve or the company loses the contract. Rebecca is desperate to save the company her mom loved, but she’s in a creative cul-de-sac. Elf Merry reports back to Santa, who decides that Rebecca needs some help rediscovering her magic. He secretly launches ‘Operation Fairy Tale’. Next day, Rebecca receives an email informing her that she is the last remaining heir of MISTLETOE MANOR, a sprawling estate in the English countryside. She decides to fly to England, put the place up for sale and fly straight home. She’ll use the money to save the company from financial ruin. Rebecca arrives at the manor and is met by handsome but sarcastic gardener ROBBIE KING. The staff have planned a lavish supper in her honour and Rebecca is forced to act as hostess. Later, she quietly instructs the lawyer to sell the place for her. Next day, she's determined to head home – only to find that the trains have been cancelled due to snow. She spends the evening with Robbie and his charming 8-year-old daughter SOPHIE KING at the annual village fete. Next day, Robbie tries to drive Rebecca to the airport but the road is blocked. Stuck in the English countryside until the snow melts, Rebecca spends time with Robbie and his daughter, and grows to love the eccentric locals. She unearths old family photos and letters at the manor and discovers that the attic is filled with vintage clothing. Before she knows it, she’s inspired, feeling reconnected with her mom, and designing magical elf couture once more. She’s rediscovered her magic. Elf Merry monitors her progress and reports back to Santa. One night, Rebecca and Robbie get drunk and sleep together. In the morning, Robbie finds out that Rebecca is planning on selling the manor. They have a bitter argument, and Rebecca leaves for New York in tears. Back home, she finally sees that the staff and villagers at Mistletoe Manor have become her new family – something she has desperately needed since her mom's death. Quitting her job and putting Simone in her place, she races back to England and stops the sale of the manor at the last moment. She informs the staff that they will be staging a fashion show for the elves of the North Pole to try and win the tailoring contract for themselves. The staff and villagers will act as fashion models. The fashion show is a roaring success, and Santa is delighted with Rebecca’s new designs. She is awarded the contract. Rebecca apologizes to Robbie, and they kiss.
