Synopsis/Details

Van Gaskell, once a rising journalist, is sent undercover as a wedding photographer to expose the private life of Margot Dane, a wealthy socialite who despises the press. But the assignment implodes when Gaskell discovers something extraordinary in her great hall: what appears to be the real Mona Lisa, missing from the Louvre.

As Gaskell digs deeper (while dodging Margot’s sharp wit and sharper instincts), he becomes tangled in a farcical triangle involving Margot, her suspicious fiancé, and her formidable mother — all while trying to determine whether he's chasing a story, a thief, or a woman who’s much more than her fame.

When Margot’s wedding unravels and a sting operation reveals the true culprit, Gaskell must decide between the scoop that could resurrect his career and the woman who might actually see the man behind the disguise.
