ACT ONE — The Setup
The script opens at daybreak atop Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro. Extreme sports host Madison Lee narrates from below as climbing champions DEREK DUPREE and his fiancée SHEILA DENNISON prepare for an illegal BASE Jump from Christ’s outstretched hands. Their radio banter is warm, intimate, lived-in — she teases, he compliments her toes, she asks about his injured knee. On three, they leap simultaneously. Dupree’s chute deploys perfectly. Sheila’s malfunctions. She plummets. He screams from the sky. She dies.
Eighteen months later, a hollowed-out, pale Dupree — buzz cut, shut-in pallor, a ghost of himself — kisses Sheila’s photo in a Soho coffee shop and climbs into a gray van. Stripped naked, scanned by Sampson (a 300-pound Samoan enforcer) and Vick (fashion-forward muscle with NFL physique), Dupree is dressed in a green-and-gold sponsor-laden racing uniform. He has entered SICKO MODE 3 — the world’s most watched and most illegal extreme death-sport competition, created and run by GRIFFIN MURDOCK, a renegade billionaire who made $3.5 billion shorting the 2008 mortgage collapse. The show live-streams to 60–70 million paying viewers at $100 each, with a $25 million grand prize for the last player standing.
Via monitors, Murdock’s charismatic ringmaster persona emerges — he’s delighted that Dupree, a former world champion climber, has finally entered after turning down two prior invitations. Vegas has him at 20-to-1. On the Falcon 2000S jet, we meet the full contestant roster through Murdock’s themed musical introductions: stoic Japanese karate champion SHIRO YAMAGUCHI; fierce Eco- Challenge veteran GIGI RANDLE; Russian heavyweight VANYA PESTOVA; Compton gangbanger OZZIE MEDINA (whose grandma hurls churros at the TV in disgust); Nebraska fullback I.M. HIPP III; Jamaican fugitive WILSON GUYANA; British punk fitness trainer APRIL RAINES; So-Cal surf pro CHAD UNDERWOOD; and defending champion TREY HUDDLE.
In parallel, FBI Director FRANK GIAMATTI, Assistant Directors ALONZO JACKSON and NICK POPOVICH, and Agent KATRINA KELLY operate a war room to track Murdock in real-time. In a key FLASHBACK, we learn Dupree was recruited at FBI Quantico three months prior and had a one-inch titanium tracking rod surgically implanted inside his rebuilt left knee — making him a living surveillance device. But the signal has already gone dark.
EVENT ONE — SKY HIGH WITH A TWIST
Murdock detonates the jet door mid-flight. Pilots eject. A countdown begins toward jet detonation. With only nine chutes for ten contestants, a brutal free-for-all ensues. Dupree — seeing Sheila’s face in Gigi’s terrified eyes — sacrifices his chute for her. Both Chad and Dupree are nearly left to die. Dupree finds a final spare pack, tandem-jumps with the injured Chad, survives the jet’s explosion, commandeers a falling cameraman’s parachute via a mid-air helmet-slam tackle, and deploys safely over shark-infested Atlantic waters off Florida. ACT TWO — Escalation
The survivors are transported to a hidden deep-forest compound under 24/7 camera surveillance. In a shower scene that doubles as character development and comedic surveillance moment, Gigi attempts to seduce Dupree into an alliance. He rebuffs her. Murdock, Sampson, and Vick bet $100 each on the outcome. Wilson — wracked with fear — confesses to I.M. that he can’t go on, weeping for his children. Dupree consoles him. Hours later, Wilson is found dead, his neck snapped during a power outage. Murdock presents deep-fake AI footage implicating Dupree in the murder. In fact, it was Trey — the defending champion and a sociopath — who slipped into Wilson’s unlocked room. Only later does Trey quietly confess this to Dupree over breakfast, noting that Dupree’s door was locked.
The FBI procedural track advances in parallel: they investigate the aerial cameraman’s identity (Charles Walker of Baltimore), trace custom underwater vehicles to a South Orange, NJ firm, raid a Soho warehouse (finding only a porn shoot), and raid a Brooklyn warehouse (finding only a hydroponic marijuana farm). Murdock taunts them with deliberate clues — a Miami Dolphins watch, a Colorado Rockies pendant, a University of Montana t-shirt — each a misdirection.
EVENT TWO — RAPIDS FIRE
The Mess Hall is hydraulically flooded and the doors lock. Contestants fight through raging waters to escape via a skylight, then race through forest to a river where custom Thunder Cat speedboats await — each loaded with hidden containers of venomous creatures: cobras, vipers, scorpions, rats, and a massive python. I.M.’s boat crushes into Vanya (killing him by decapitation). I.M. is bitten by a viper and crashes fatally into rocks. Dupree battles a python wrapped around his legs, gets thrown overboard, climbs back aboard, and finishes the race. Shiro, in the script’s most audacious moment, calmly grabs a live cobra and hurls it at Trey like a throwing star. Despite snake venom and scorpion stings, Trey barely survives. Shiro wins the event. Between events, Shiro — in the script’s most pivotal quiet scene — sits next to Dupree in the library while Led Zeppelin’s ‘Ramble On’ drowns out the surveillance mics. He whispers: ‘Sakki. I know. I feel. Both here. Same reason.’ Shiro is also on a covert mission — hired by a swindled Japanese industrialist to assassinate Murdock. Two men, two covert missions, one unspoken bond. Meanwhile, in a new scene for this draft, Murdock takes a call from his brother GARY — whose voice is identical except for a telltale stutter — planting the twin-brother setup that pays off in the finale.
The FBI subplot deepens: Jackson and Popovich discover Dupree liquidated all his assets — sold his house below market, sold his cars, cashed out his portfolio. The conclusion is devastating: Dupree may have gone rogue. He wants the money. FBI profiler DR. CORNEL WEST weighs in, predicting Murdock will keep Dupree in the game as a puppet-string opportunity and will stage his next event at a high-visibility national location.
EVENT THREE — SUBWAY SUICIDE
In Times Square, a FedEx truck releases four custom Ducati Panigale V4S GP superbikes directly into the NYC subway system. The Final Four race through live subway tunnels at near-186 mph, dodging oncoming trains. Trey attacks Gigi with a backhand. Gigi blows a tire, then hijacks Dupree’s bike mid-race by leaping through the air and knocking him off. Dupree catches a subway train by the window frame (passengers chanting ‘Ghost! Ghost!’), is rescued by Shiro riding alongside, then reclaims his bike by choking Gigi unconscious — she is thrown clear and killed by an oncoming train.
The racers explode out of the subway and onto Manhattan streets, where Dupree encounters Jackson and Popovich in their FBI SUV. In a moment broadcast live to 70+ million viewers, Dupree’s undercover identity is blown. Popovich draws his weapon. Dupree delivers the script’s signature line: ‘I QUIT! ACT THREE — The Finale
EVENT FOUR — LAMBO LIMBO
Three fully-customized Lamborghini Urus SUVs are dropped from Sikorsky Seahawk helicopters onto the blizzard-covered slopes of Mt. Hood, Oregon, at 11,000 feet. Murdock — now positioned at the mountain’s base, having abandoned his helicopter anonymity — reveals to the world that he found and neutralized the FBI tracking device inside Dupree’s knee from day one, broadcasts the deep-fake Wilson footage and the Subway Suicide confrontation with the FBI, and confirms Dupree’s agent status. He lets him continue anyway, relishing the puppet strings.
Trey smashes Shiro’s Lambo from behind at high speed, sending it into a devastating end-over-end roll and explosion. Shiro is killed. Dupree, enraged, rams Trey’s SUV into a tailspin — directly into the path of a Murdock-triggered Level 5 avalanche. Trey is obliterated. Dupree wins. The avalanche destroys buildings and kills civilians at the mountain’s base.
DENOUEMENT
Dupree is whisked aboard a HondaJet 420 with Murdock, $25 million in open aluminum cases between them. Led Zeppelin’s ‘Ramble On’ plays softly — connecting this moment to the Shiro bond. Murdock congratulates him, then draws a Browning 9mm — he knows everything. But Dupree notices a brief stutter in Murdock’s speech: ‘That’s 25 million, b-b-b-bro.’ Before Murdock can act, FBI Blackhawk helicopters appear (Snake Winslow ID’d Mt. Hood on ESPN). A brutal gunfight kills both pilots and destroys the controls. Dupree leaps from the plummeting jet and catches a cargo net from Blackhawk Five. He urges Murdock to jump. Murdock leaps — misses the net by two inches. Falls screaming to his death. The jet explodes. The $25 million flutters through the sky.
EPILOGUE
One week later, Dupree — in suit and tie — meets with the FBI directors. He explains he gave half his assets to Sheila’s family and bet the other half on himself to win. Giamatti offers him a future at the Bureau. Jackson reveals that Shiro was indeed a paid assassin hired by a Japanese industrialist Murdock had swindled. Dupree touches Shiro’s newspaper photo and says quietly: ‘We got him, Shiro.’
In the emotional coda, Dupree returns to Christ the Redeemer at dawn — the same spot where Sheila died. Armed with a crossbow anchor, he climbs the statue, scatters Sheila’s ashes in a BASE Jump from her perch, and in releasing her, releases himself.
POST-CREDITS TWIST
FBI dental records reveal the man on the HondaJet was not Griffin Murdock — it was his identical twin brother, GARY. Murdock is alive, sipping margaritas in Bora Bora with producer Strickler, reading a folded piece of paper that can only mean one thing: SICKO MODE 4: THE RESURRECTION is already in motion.
