Synopsis/Details

Samuel meets Vanessa in a bar and takes her home. They banter and discover things about each other. They drink...they have sex. In a short while they decide to play a Ouija board scenario and jokingly try to conjure up the dead. They eventually seem to latch onto a spirit who is keen to let them know not to interfere with the afterlife.
After a few times with the Ouija and some freaky events Samuel admits he has been leading Vanessa astray with the adventures in the spirit world and it was in fact he who was moving the planchette. Vanessa is upset and decides to leave. But then the Ouija begins to have a life of it's own and someone has really been conjured up.
It is Samuel's Great Aunt Gretel, who Sam lived with previously and who died of a heart attack. Gretel has some secrets to spill including the nature of her death. Samuel admits complicity .
Again, there is another spirit on the line. This time with a tragic tie to Vanessa. Her son, who she had when still a teen and died in terrible circumstances is calling his mother and wants to be held by her. Gretel suggests the spirit enters the real world and possesses the body of Samuel so Vanessa and her son can have a few moments together.
Once the possession has been completed and Mother and son are re-united, Vanessa cant let go and with Samuel trapped in the spirit world she smashes the board and breaks the connection.

Occasionally the big time calls...then it shuts up for a while and I get back to writing.. I held down a fairly steady job at one time as books and films reviewer for a British teen magazine before it bit the dust as magazines are wont to do these days.I was shortlisted (or long-listed, I'm not quite sure) for playwright of the year on BBC local radio which was promising. More recently one of my radio plays was chosen for broadcast by Ocean City Radio and Chesil Theatre shortlisted one of my plays for… Go to bio
