A police detective enters a room to question his prime suspect about a homicide. The suspect doesn't want to tell him the story, but after some pressure he finally relents.
Inside a mental health facility RUDY (43) a patient sits huddled on his bed in his room. DR STEFAN EBBERS (52) sits in the room with a curtain in his hand. The sun beams into the room through its only window. Rudy isn't happy, something has him very agitated. Rudy wants his curtain back, and Dr Ebbers wants him to come and get it but it means he has to touch the sunlight. Rudy doesn't want to touch the sun at all. The doctor tricks him into touching it and Rudy loses his mind and assaults the doctor. A guard quickly enters and Rudy is ready to take on all comers.
In the back of a van, Rudy is beaten, sore and restrained. The guard sits next to him as Dr Stefan drives the vehicle through a large forest. They reach a clearing and the van stops. Rudy looks like a man whose resigned to his fate. The Dr threatens to throw him out into the clearing, to break his delusion once and for all. Rudy begs for him not to, he'll tell him everything if he promises not to put him in the sun. Dr Stefan agrees and the guard waits nearby but out of earshot.
Dr Stefan takes all of his notes and listens to Rudy's story. Rudy is relieved, he relaxes but the doctor orders the guard to pull him out of the van. Rudy panics and begs for them not to do it but the doctor is defiant and the guard aggressive. Rudy is dragged from the van and beat into submission. Dr Stefan stands with him and Rudy tells him he's sorry as their skin starts to burn. He told him the man in the sun would know, he doesn't like it if you know his name and he shouldn't have told Dr Stefan what it was. The men burn to cinders within seconds as the guard looks on in shock. The guard doesn't know what to do, he finds the doctors book on the ground nearby and reads it.
In the interview room the guard sits handcuffed and bandaged with burns on his body. He tells the detective to lock him up, put him in a dark hole forever. The man in the sun is angry that he knows his name , he nearly got him but he made it to the van in time. The man in the sun wants him dead because he knows his name, just like the others.
The detective sits at his desk late at night, he's wasted. He pulls Dr Stefan's notepad out of a drawer and looks inside. The last page was torn out. The detective grabs a pencil and starts rubbing on the next page. "....his name is..." appears in the charcoal.
When I wrote this it felt very Stephen King-ish with it's weird concept, but I love it. I literally had a dream one night that the sun was mad at me and wanted me dead. If I went outside it would burn me up. I would love to film this myself, but if anyone with the skill to film this and bring it to life would like to contact me then please feel free to do so.
