Temping by Steve Cornwell | Script Revolution

Age Rating:

Balancing work as an office temp, love life, daily casting calls and an inept agent is testing enough. With the support of her friends she may just be enjoying herself more than she realises.

Claire’s day does not start well, losing her current temping position and finding out her boyfriend has been cheating on her whilst she works the daily grind.

Having no luck with her employment agency for an immediate replacement position she feels that the world is against her as she is caught on the streets in a rain storm, until a mysterious stranger offers her his umbrella on the promise that she return it next time they meet before walking off, leaving Claire intrigued.

Off the back of a trying day, Claire’s friends rally round her and take her out for an evenings entertainment at the local nightlife, where after a less than enjoyable evening she bumps into the stranger from the street on her way out and arranges to meet for lunch the following day.

The next day is met with newly refreshed optimism and after a meeting with her agent, gets a casting call to reinvigorate her diminishing enthusiasm. The only drawback being the clash with the arranged luncheon. Claire sends one of her friends in her place as she goes off to another disappointing “big break”.

The closest I came to advancing a script was having it taken on for their future slate, only for that company to go into administration while working on their current project range. Currently going through a phase of reinvigoration, looking around once more for new... Go to bio
