In 1988, young and emotionally disturbed Christian Blake is ratted out by his partner Jerald Gavin and arrested at a local Salvation Army. Eight years later, Christian, now free from prison and hungry for revenge, applies to Jerald's department store. Jerald, hopeful Christian might change, hires him and introduces him to the rest of the stores staff including his new partner, Levi Knauss, the perfume specialist, his girlfriend/makeup specialist Daphne. ,where he meets perfume specialist Levi who works with his girlfriend and makeup specialist Daphne, her partner Constance, jewelry saleswoman Tracy, part-timer Jessica, and her boyfriend Zack, to name a few. After a bizarre encounter with a mannequin and an angry shopper, Levi suspects something wrong with Christian, which he later confirms after a terrifying encounter with him in a bathroom during his date with Daphne. Levi tries to warn Daphne but she brushes it off, leading to a heated argument. Daphne blows off steam with Jessica and Zack at the mall, and after deciding to buy Levi an apology gift, meets Christian in the store, who gives her an expensive ring as a gift, which she ultimately rejects. Levi, after confirming his suspicions about Christian through a web search, confronts Christian on his first day, much to Daphne's annoyance. The two get into another employee, which sets Christian loose. He attacks Levi, kills Zack, and goes on a rampage, killing everyone he sees in sight. Jerald confesses his role in Christian's plight to Levi, Daphne and the remaining employees, and the four reluctantly agree to help bring him down. The search eventually leads, Daphne, Levi, and Jerald to the roof where Daphne manages to get Christian to show his true colors. As he confesses his love to her, he begins to lose control of his powers. At Daphne's mercy, she grants him his wish, and silences him with a bullet to the head. As Jerald hands the keys off to Daphne, and disappears off the radar, until he returns, nearly thirty years later, in search of Christian's necklace. It arrives to the store, (now a Macy's) in the hands of a woman named Donna, who reveals herself to be Christian's mother. She kidnaps Jerald, takes him to her husband, Silas, where he exacts his revenge by stomping him flat. As Donna leaves, ready to clean up the other survivors, Silas, relishes in his victory with a celebratory chuckle.
