Synopsis/Details

The Border Counties of England were steeped in mysticism and legends.
Temperance Lloyd was revilled by the villagers and known as "The Devil's Mistress" because her soul had been pledged to Lucifer by her father.
Now, as she lies stricken, she has few friends, except for Horace Alexander, the vicar, whom she valued above all her detractors because of his enquiring mind. Their friendship has been sorely tested throughout the decades.
Alexander knows Temperance is dying and, as he decides to offer her salvation in her final hours, his beliefs are sorely tested as Temperance faces her final confrontation.
