Synopsis/Details
Charlie (30's, average by all measures) battles with his symptoms of OCD, compulsions that drag him away from pursuing everyday tasks in a stress-free manner. Everything can trigger them. Turning on a light, ensuring that a door is properly closed, or moving an item into a position that is 'just right'. He goes to walk away, wishing that he could leave and continue with his day, but the compulsion doesn't let him. A rope appears around his waist (invisible to everyone but himself), linked to the direction of his compulsion. He pulls at it, but it doesn't budge. The rope drags him back, staying tight around his body until he has completed the compulsion.
His friends begin to notice and speculate on his compulsions, highlighting their concern for his close relationship with his girlfriend. Guilt and shame ride Charlie's thoughts, driving his compulsions up a gear. Things get worse, and multiple ropes appear, forcing him to find a way to sever the ropes once and for all, but the more he fights the compulsions, the more attention they gain and the stronger they become, sending his life into a downward spiral. Charlie discovers that a change in attitude is required, but what will that change be?
