Synopsis/Details
Caleb Winslow and Kenji Sato, two best friends stuck in dead-end jobs at a small-town diner, dream of escaping the greasy grind to open their own ramen food truck. Their supervisor, Patrick Hicks, constantly mocks their ambitions, telling them they’ll never make it out. But their shared dream keeps them going, until a chance discovery changes everything.
While cleaning, they notice a missing-persons poster for four boys last seen near the diner, with a $20,000 reward. Later that evening, Caleb overhears Patrick on the phone, mentioning “the boys” and a secret meeting. Suspicious, Caleb convinces a reluctant Kenji to follow Patrick after work.
They tail him to a remote warehouse and witness the unthinkable. Patrick is involved in a child trafficking deal. Horrified, they escape and rush to the police, armed with blurry photos from Caleb’s phone. Sergeant Griffin and Officer Bragg believe them, but they cannot act without clearer evidence. Kenji wants to walk away, but Caleb insists on doing what’s right, even if it’s dangerous.
Desperate, Caleb turns to his older brother Justin, a private investigator who has long suspected Patrick’s involvement in trafficking. With Justin’s help, they plan a sting operation. Officer Bragg goes undercover as a buyer while Sergeant Griffin and her team prepare to raid the site. Caleb and Kenji assist from the sidelines, anxious but determined. The sting succeeds. Patrick takes the bait, and the police storm the warehouse, arresting him and rescuing the missing boys. Furious and defeated, Patrick is dragged away, vowing revenge, but Caleb and Kenji finally feel free.
Weeks later, the friends are honored for their courage and awarded the $20,000 reward. The missing children are safely reunited with their families. With the diner permanently closed, Caleb and Kenji use the money to buy and renovate a food truck, finally launching their dream business, Broth & Roll: Craft Ramen. As they sit by the pier, watching city lights shimmer on the water, the two toast with soda bottles, proud of what they’ve built, and of the choice that changed everything.
