Thomas (40's) is at hard work in his kitchen preparing a 3 course dinner for his family. REBECCA (30's) arrives home and is surprised at the extra special meal being prepared. She decides to have a quick shower before dinner and leaves. Thomas pulls a box from a hiding spot beneath the seat and glares at it excitedly.
At dinner, the family have just finished their main course. Their Son (6) and Daughter (8) have thoroughly enjoyed it. Dessert is next. Thomas brings a luxurious cake to the table and cuts a slice for each member of the family, except himself. As the trio finish their cake, Thomas presents Rebecca with the box.
Rebecca opens the box to find an ancient and ritualistic dagger inside. She's confused by the strange object. Thomas gleefully explains the gift is a knife carved from the tooth of an ancient God, B'Thull, and he will use it to summon the great entity, siphon His power and uses it to rule the world. Unfortunately, it will take a great sacrifice which is where his family come in. The children fall unconscious, it was the cake! Thomas explains that he was doing Rebecca one last kindness, because at least she won't have to hear her children scream. With that, the world fades away for Rebecca.
She awakens in a dark home, bound and gagged to her chair. She lets out a muffled scream, but the only person who comes is Thomas. He's shirtless and covered in blood splatter. The knife is coated in viscera that drips to the floor. Rebecca breaks down and rages as Thomas explains her children are dead, as promised. He says that many terrible things had been done in his life to reach this point, and the final step was to sacrifice those that he loved including his own flesh and blood and his wife. As much as it pained him, he would delay no longer. Thomas thrusts the knife into Rebecca and deals a fatal blow. He readies to accept the power of a God, but nothing happens.
Rebecca confesses with her dying breath that the children weren't his. She had an affair, but loved Thomas so much she didn't want to lose him. Thomas turns pale with terror and screams that if they weren't of his flesh, that B'Thull would be freed. A great groan is heard throughout the world and Thomas knows what's to come.
B'Thull possess Rebecca and Thomas begs for forgiveness, but that is in short supply from a God he had nearly destroyed. B'Thull tells Thomas he is devoid of love, devotion and loyalty and that his house stinks of betrayal. B'Thull promises the world will melt beneath his wrath, in time. For now, he tells Thomas that he will be devoured but B'Thull will spend an Aeon "tenderizing the meat". Thomas's children appear bloodied, demonic and hungry as well. He screams in unadulterated horror. CUT TO BLACK.
