The Oppression

In 2005, Zane Hayward, the middle child of a large family, desperately seeks the attention of his mother, Rochelle, a devout Catholic, with strict rules, discipline. After a heated exchange one morning, Zane's classmate Liam leads Zane to a website that shows him how to summon Baphomet, an ancient demon with the ability to grant the summoner anything he desires. Upon returning home, Zane steals Rochelle's book of spells, and attempts to summon Baphomet with a Ouija Board. Unknown to him at the time, he succeeds, prompting Rochelle and Isaac to take action. They invite over Father Donahue, a close friend of Rochelle, and former student of her deceased mentor, Father Charles McKinley. After giving the family an explanation on what they're dealing with Father Donahue and Isaac agree the safest place for Rochelle to be is at the parish, believing she is the target. As Rochelle prepares to leave, she, upon investigating Zane's room, finds out the hard truth, and after setting him straight, forces him along for the trip. As Isaac and the rest of the children remain home, Zane and Rochelle begin having their own frightening experiences at the church. Their fear eventually culminates into Zane, nearly dying after drinking blood out of a goblet during mass. With the hospital finding nothing wrong with him, Father Donahue suggests the family reconnect for the time being and offers them money, while he returns to the church to looks for more solutions. Rochelle and Isaac, eager to finally spend some time together, treat their kids to a day out at the mall, where Belle and Eliza splurge on toys, Zane on a new sketchbook, and Seth on an Avril Lavigne surprise concert. Their happiness is soon cut short, as, Baphomet goes after them one-by-one. The family return to the church, defeated, as Father Donahue gives them his best choice, an exorcism, on Zane, the clear target. Rochelle, after forgiving herself for her own mistakes her in past, reluctantly agrees, and the exorcism commences. After some words are thrown, blood is spilled, and buildings ignited, Rochelle manages to defeat Baphomet by making him consume the sacred wine (Jesus's blood). Back to the present, as the family reconnect at a big family BBQ, a thirty year old Zane, reveals to Rochelle, a horrible discovery that leads Father Donahue back into their lives.
