Trapped in a car. A slim connection between them and no chance for escape, a group of men wait for contact from the person that put them there. UNRELIABLE WITNESS is written to put the audience in the same predicament as the characters. That is, hopefully, your first reaction to the early pages should be "What the hell?" (I was going for a bit of a Vince Gilligan feel to the moment.)
The first visuals are intended to be confusing and chaotic in their way, even though the situation itself is quiet and calm. The first page, especially, should be quite a bit of fun for a talented director and crew.
A tight little horror/thriller, UNRELIABLE WITNESS was originally written as part of a weekend writing challenge. I've since developed a bit of a backstory for the script, which could become the backbone of a future feature. (Contact me if you'd like me to share the concept. Though, be aware, it's only the bones of a basic story. MUCH work would need to be done to develop the idea.)
A small cast and one (albeit challenging) location make this a relatively easy shoot with a pretty good punch at the end. Done right, it could be great fun.
Be aware, I'll be retaining rights to the larger concept as part of any agreement to shoot this. So, we'll have to work that out. But, that shouldn't be a big deal. Also, I'm open to a cooperative development on a larger project.
