Synopsis/Details:

Mediums, people who talk to the dead, those who deliver messages from the other side; have you ever wondered what the spirit side of the conversation sounds like?

In WHAT DREAMS MAY COME, RYA SINGER (late 30’s) is a psychic medium who is pissed off and fed up. She didn’t see the betrayal of her boyfriend, CONNOR (late 30’s) coming, nor did she see her reputation annihilated in the media. Both incidents send her into a tailspin and the only means of escape is a prescription medication to keep the spirits at bay. When she doesn’t take the prescription medication, Rya’s dreams are often prophetic, obscure, and vividly frightening.

NEO (late 30’s), Rya’s best friend, is a genderfluid, fashion-forward person about town. They are the one constant in Rya’s life. Always quick with a hug or a sage piece of wisdom, Neo definitely knows how to work Rya’s thought process, much to Connor’s irritation.

SCOTT FULLERSON (50’s), is a jaded journalist with nothing to live for in life except to make everyone else around him as miserable and bitter as he is. He has a tendency to pick a target and pummel them in the press until they break. He drugs people to get them to open up and then runs with the story until there is no story. Unfortunately for Rya, there is always a story.

No matter where she goes, or who she's with, Rya is almost always faced with the other side. Spirits are everywhere and they are curious about the world around them. There is no escape for Rya.

When Rya finally sees Connor, she realizes he’s only part of the healing process. Confronting Scott is a harder pill to swallow. She finds it hard to put aside her feelings when the other side begs her to talk to Scott.

Can she dig down deep, find it in her heart to help the man who ruined her life?

The Writer: Ellis Barrowman

A life-long love of movies, a passion for character development, and a long talk with my book editor two years ago, convinced me to make the switch from novel writing to writing screenplays. Today I am a screenwriter, script consultant, and teach screenwriting basics to high school students and senior citizens. My twitter bio describes me as " Opinionated screenwriter, script consult, film junkie, with filter issues " Yah, that sounds about right! Go to bio
