Synopsis/Details
Army veteran David Hyde flees through the forest, haunted by memories of alien experimentation and a violent escape. Now hiding in a fortified bunker he once built for doomsday, David survives alone as his supplies dwindle and his sanity frays. On the brink of suicide, he’s saved by a voice crackling over his CB radio. “Amy,” claiming to represent an underground human resistance, insists he has a mission: survive, stay hidden, and prepare for humanity’s counterattack.
Reenergized with purpose, David scavenges for food and reconnects with his identity as a soldier—something civilian life never provided. But unsettling details emerge. The forest is eerily normal. The supposed alien patrols sound human. When a hunter stumbles onto David’s bunker, David captures and interrogates him, convinced he’s a collaborator.
A desperate phone call from the hunter’s daughter reveals a chilling possibility: there is no invasion—only a manhunt for David. As search teams close in, David rejects the truth, kills the hunter, and opens fire on the approaching “enemy.”
Orders of Battle is a contained psychological thriller about trauma, delusion, and the deadly cost of believing in a war that exists only in the mind.
