Suspicious, they learn they need each other to escape.
A desperate knock at the door startles them. Rajeev enters, exhausted and confused. Not trusting him, they tie him to a chair and Bill interrogates him for answers he doesn’t have.
While exploring the house, Bill is haunted by an apparition of his dead wife, Janet. She angrily reminds of his adultery, particularly with a younger colleague, Sally. Meanwhile, Sally is haunted by the evil force too, revealing dark forces are at play in the house.
Tempers flare and a fight between Jenny and Aaron, leaves Aaron marginalised. He exits the house and from the depths of the mist, an evil force pulls him in. Mandy tries to help but is forced to run back as the evil force in the mist tries unsuccessfully to grab her too.
While the others sleep, the evil force becomes Mandy’s reflection, taking on Mandy’s male alter ego. It argues aggressively about her gender transition, then takes her back to witness her causing a fatal car accident - forcing Mandy to watch with regret, as the accident unfolds. Meanwhile, Jenny opens the door and goes to help a little girl she sees outside. Jenny is pulled into the mist by the girl, who turns out to be evil. The girl blames her for killing her by abortion, which gives Jenny a flashback of her break-up with Aaron. The girl then cruelly forces herself back inside Jenny’s womb, leaving her for dead.
Wondering if they should try and save Jenny, Sally blacks-out. During this, finds herself back in her living room at home - a dark figure looms over her. Moments later she wakes up and has a memory that she and Bill know Aaron. They say nothing – not wanting the group to suspect they’re involved.
The sun rises and they exit the house. Bill and Sally discuss their de-ja-vu and realise they may be in a time loop. Deep in the woods, they find Jenny, dying. She tells them, “It’s Aaron. We are in his head!” causing them all flashbacks. Mandy realises her car hit Aaron. Rajeev remembers Jenny visiting Aaron in a coma and asking him to switch him off. It’s revealed reveal Aaron has dragged them into his coma. They’re in his head - he controls and manipulates the world around them.
The group decides on a password to remind them in the next time loop, Aaron. To keep things simple, they each remember two letters.
Aaron chases Mandy through the woods with her car, eventually killing her with a chainsaw. Then he brutally kills Bill and Sally too. As time repeats, they try to change events and although they make some progress, can’t defeat Aaron.
Rajeev, lost in the woods, manages to find a house, passing a sign for “Wrathwood”. He knocks the door, enters and sees Bill, Sally, Mandy, Jenny, and Aaron, taking us to the beginning of the loop.
Rajeev remembers his letters. “S.T”. the others join in, spelling “STOP ARON”. They realise what’s happening, their memories return and they take Aaron down. They get revenge by burning Aaron alive. As he dies, the group slowly disappears from his world.
Rajeev wakes in hospital and runs to the unconscious Aaron’s bed and kills him. Sally and Bill wake in her living room, relieved. Jenny wakes in her office, holding a flyer about adoption. She touches her pregnant belly - she didn’t abort the baby after all. Mandy wakes in a hospital bed - her transition was successful.
