Synopsis:
In the remote Alaskan town of Hope, quirky high school teacher Wyatt Goodwater, a savant with a passion for local history, uncovers a 1,000-year-old Kilaq Tribe legend about Kóoshdaa Tléil—a zombie plague born from Mount Kilaq’s eruption, turning people and wildlife into fire-hungry monsters led by the Tléil Káa (Fire Mother). When he warns a team of volcanologists studying the volcano’s recent tremors, they dismiss his “myth” as superstition. As the mountain erupts, spewing black dust that transforms Hope’s residents into fast, cunning zombies with glowing lava veins and contagious dust-vomit, Wyatt evacuates his homeroom class—mostly indigenous teens led by fierce Tala Redhawk—to his Cold War-era bunker, a prepper’s fortress stocked with food, weapons, and a sacred tribal spear.
Inside the bunker, tensions rise as entitled non-indigenous students Chad and Lila stage a coup, endangering the group. Exiled through the airlock, they transform into alpha zombies, joining the horde led by the Volcano Mother, a molten colossus dwelling in the volcano’s heart. Guided by the legend’s prophecy, Wyatt, Tala, tech-savvy Maya Snow, and warrior Kael Blackfish venture into the zombie-infested wilderness to slay the Mother, battling lava-spewing bears, dust-exploding hybrids, and Chad’s vicious alpha pack. As the plague threatens to spread beyond Alaska, the team’s unity and ancestral wisdom are tested in a fiery volcano showdown, where sacrifices and the sacred spear determine whether they can restore balance or lose the world to the fire-hungry horde.
