Jewelry Store Robbery
A first-time jewelry thief must grapple with the salesclerk’s unexpected talkativeness.
From the moment we start reading Jewelry Store Robbery, it hits us with a mix of dialogue and action that is as playful as it is disarming. Its two central characters, Amir Farman and the Clerk, turn what would otherwise be a nail biting segment into a comedy roast of people who suck at crime.
It's a highly entertaining scene, confined to 10 pages, and takes its time in filling every moment possible with situations more ridiculous than the last - Up until the very end.
Amir's cringe and clumsy wannabe bad boy vibes is a nice juxtaposition to the Clerk's inability to take anything seriously.
This is a great scene for a director who wants to tackle not just comedy (in the Awkward Humor genre), but also the art of getting the timing right on delivery - pre and post-production - from one take to the next.
