Nothing Compares To You
A man resorts to desperate measures to win back the affections of his one true love.

Under the soft light of a full moon a car rests at a scenic lookout atop a cliff, and in it sits an aging couple, Barry and Lois. A setting this beautiful would normally be the sort of location reserved for romance and couples lost in love, however the only thing that’s lost between these two is potentially their relationship.

Barry is clearly in the wrong, he’s driven a wedge between them after being caught red handed in a tryst with another. Lois flinches at his slightest touch and she rebukes his apologies as she finds hurt amongst the emotional memories of their shared past. She demands one thing, an answer as to why he did it?

LOIS
Why then?

BARRY
I dunno... I was bored.
There was a freedom with Delvene that -

LOIS
(sneering)
Delvene?

BARRY
- she made me feel like I was nineteen again.
Powerful, virile. I didn’t have to make an effort.
She never had a bad day, she never had
a headache. She let me do whatever I wanted,
whenever I wanted.

LOIS
Sounds like a hooker’s name.

BARRY
- No need to be rude, Lois.

LOIS
I let you, Barry...
I let you do anything!
I even let you -

BARRY
I know you did.
You were always a real champ, Lois.

LOIS
A champ? Oh, and FYI,
they’re not headaches, Barry,
they’re migraines. Big difference.

BARRY
I know. I know.

LOIS
So tell me then, please!
What could Delvene possibly offer you that
I couldn’t, apart from her enormous -

BARRY
Attributes?

LOIS
Yes.

As Barry digs a deeper hole for himself Lois digs into their own relationship and his betrayal, hunting for some truth within his somewhat warped logic. However, this time she may have wished she’d stopped digging, as Barry reveals that he’s taken matters into his own hands in a bid to prove his love to his hurt partner. There’s a surprise waiting for Lois in the trunk, a surprise that Barry thinks is going to save their relationship…
