Video pitches increase your chance of getting read because you can answer questions after that may be the difference between a request and a pass.

Before teleprompter software, I never video pitched as I'm one of those guys where everything that sounds great in my head rarely comes out of my mouth that way. Now I video pitch every chance I get.

This video helps teach you how to use teleprompter software and appear to still be looking into the camera without having to spend $$$ on a beam splitting glass setup. Enjoy:

You can also use Microsoft PowerPoint to cut and paste your pitch into a text box on a slide, add the "Fly-in" animation to the text, control the speed of how fast it scrolls, and you have a pretty easy way to read your pitch or notes while staring at your camera.  You just minimize the PowerPoint window a bit and put it right at the top of your screen below your webcam.  I like this method by using bullet points for my pitch then they prompt me to speak more naturally to tell the story/deliver the pitch.
