Synopsis/Details
Santa Claus, burnt out, tired, feeling irrelevant, goes through the motions as he gets ready for his annual gift giving journey. He can relate to his beloved retired reindeer, whom have been put out to pasture for younger reindeer. His elves are getting ready to strike, while his lawyer informs him of the Environmental Impact Reports that must be filled out. On his journey, he enters the house of Wyatt, a precocious 12 year-old who doesn't believe in Santa or flying reindeer. Wyatt covertly hides on Santa's sleigh. As Santa resumes his journey, Sircoligians, amphibious creatures from another solar system, kidnap Santa and his sleigh. On the spaceship, Santa, rendered unconscious, has an implant placed in his neck. Wyatt, hiding, witnesses this and learns of the aliens' plan to use Santa and his magic dust next Christmas Eve to help them mind-control and subdue humans so they can conquer Earth. Once back on the ground, Wyatt tries to warn Santa, who won't hear any of it. Wyatt attempts to tell his best friend, Dwighty, of the aliens' plan. Dwighty is skeptical. So is Wyatt's mom. Wyatt attends a book signing by “Santa”, only to cause a scene when he discovers it's not the real Santa. After Wyatt battles a Sircoligian in his house and nearly destroys the place, Wyatt is shipped off to a military boarding school. At a science fair, Dwighty shows Brooke, a girl Wyatt has a crush on, a fuzzy cell-phone picture of a Dog-Opus (dog/octopus like creature) that Wyatt took on the spaceship. Brooke is able to enhance it to show what it really is – proving Wyatt`s story to be true. Back at the North Pole, Santa has been acting strange. Dwighty visits Wyatt on Thanksgiving. He helps Wyatt escape. Their mission – get to the North Pole. They hitchhike, then sneak aboard a freight train, where an alien again tries to kill Wyatt. The boys then hook up with Henry, a pilot and Vietnam veteran, who flies them north to an Eskimo settlement. After celebrating the Northern Lights with the natives and new young friend, Kirima, they take off on a dog sled. Once they arrive at the North Pole, they find Santa, who shoves Wyatt aside and takes off on his sleigh. With the help of elf Benny and the retired reindeer, Wyatt and Dwighty give chase. Santa is caught and the implant removed. With Henry, Brooke and the elves helping out, Santa, Dwighty and Wyatt are ready to do battle with the evil Sircoligians.
