Synopsis/Details
Jackie Belanger is a game warden in a small, rural town in Northern Maine. She never sleeps during a full moon. One full moon night, the local bartender bangs on her door in a panic. There's been a murder! Sure enough, there's a dead body but before Jackie can call the police, she has to check to make sure Louie hasn't escaped. Once she has confirmed that Louie is safely locked away, she knows that while he is the most dangerous person in the town, he can't have committed the crime. More than a hundred miles south, Gordon Foxx is a police detective whose marriage is falling apart and whose drinking is getting out of control. He and his partner are called up north to help with the murder investigation. Gordon and his partner, Kinney, meet Jackie, who uses her contacts as a local to aid them in solving the crime. With Jackie's help, Gordon is unravels the murder mystery, leading him to a showdown with the killer. A showdown that nearly ends in his death if not for Jackie. The experience leaves Gordon and Jackie with a feeling of attraction and leaves Gordon feeling suspicious about Louie, the mysterious young man connected, somehow, to both the murder and to Jackie. Louie is the one person in town Gordon was unable to meet. Why? And how does Jackie know he didn't have had anything to do with the murder? Back in Bangor, Gordon's marriage fully disintegrates. With the murder investigation seemingly closed, Jackie is able to catch up with Louie. She is scared for him but he is scared of what he might do. Meanwhile, the son of the murder victim, Josh, hearing about his father's death, fills with rage, plotting his next move. A month passes. Another full moon. Gordon returns to the small town to see Jackie, romantically. A lunch date and, serendipitous, a meeting with Louie. He discovers that the young man is also in love with Jackie, although she doesn't seem to feel the same way. Jackie tells Gordon that Louie suffers from the delusion that he is a werewolf. Gordon fears that this delusion can make him dangerous. On this same fateful night, Josh, filled with anger surrounding the death of his father, returns to the small town to finally reveal the secret the townspeople have been keeping all along: Louie does not suffer from the delusion that he is a werewolf, he is an actual werewolf! Josh aims to release the werewolf on the unsuspecting town. As night falls, Louie, the werewolf, is set loose on the town. Violence and mayhem overtake the night. Innocent people all over town are killed as Jackie and Gordon race to save lives, to stop the monster Gordon couldn't have imagined actually existed and which Jackie is terrified has been released into the world.
