Synopsis/Details
BILLIE-MAY is trapped in an abusive marriage with animal control officer LUKE SHARPTON. When Luke physically harms their nine-year-old daughter, ELLIE, for the first time, Billie-May finally resolves to leave home, no matter what the cost. Luke guesses her intentions. He tries to foil her by taking the few hundred dollars she's managed to save up, but Billie-May takes Ellie and they set out anyway in her beat-up car. To avoid being spotted by Luke or his buddies, Billie-May keeps clear of the main highways, but her plan backfires when her car breaks down in the worst possible place: a deserted road miles from the nearest township. Mother and daughter continue on foot, only to find themselves chased by a pack of feral dogs that have already made several deadly attacks in the local area. Billie-May and Ellie are forced to take refuge in a large, abandoned farmhouse as the dogs -- and Luke and his posse of hunters -- close in.

The Writer: Paul Barlow

OK, lemme see... I've been writing for quite a few years now, mostly features, but also three TV pilots. Plus, inevitably, a ragbag of webisodes, shorts and skits, some of which are still out there on the interwebs -- and some of which are uploaded here for your perusal. I was also hired to write three stage musicals that successfully went into production. One of the features I'm uploading made the quarter-finals in last year's PAGE and the other made the top 15% of the Nicholl. So I figure I must be doing something right -- and even if they weren't exactly what those contests were looking for, they might still be a perfect fit for you! Go to bio
