Synopsis/Details
JOHN is an aspiring and ambitious astronaut with a dream of making space travel accessible to the general population. He built a Rocket Pack using his proficient skills, hoping that it would allow people to strap up on their backs and launch from Earth to space. He presents this idea to his employer, Space Projects, and requests funding to test his pack in space. Meanwhile, a private jet piloted by John's father, CHARLES, an Air Force veteran, with his client, a tech wizard named DESMOND, founder of the highly successful AI company Blackwell Inc., crashes due to debris from a decommissioned satellite falling out of the sky, killing everyone on board. This tragic news devastates John and JESSICA, Desmond's sister and the only living heir to his legacy. They meet during counseling sessions and develop a healthy relationship while supporting each other through the grieving process.
After establishing a strong connection and trust with John, Jessica reveals that an AI owned by Blackwell Inc. went rogue and caused the plane crash. She also informs John that the same AI has shipped bearer bonds worth billions belonging to Blackwell Inc. to the Moon, potentially leading to the company's collapse. To save the company, John proposes a plan that involves him using his Rocket Pack to travel from the International Space Station (ISS) to the Moon. After receiving approval, John embarks on a solo lunar voyage in his pack to retrieve the bonds. John’s long-time friend and tech guru, SPENCER, who manages ground operations for him during this mission, informs him that the AI has dispatched mercenaries from space to retrieve the bonds. In a race to the Moon, John comes out victorious against the mercenaries by fighting them and leaves back to Earth in a ship with the bonds.
Back on Earth, Spencer discovers that someone deliberately hacked and instructed the AI to crash Charles’ plane. To find the hacker, he needs higher authority credentials. John suggests using Jessica’s credentials. Spencer goes to Jessica's residence to gain access and finds out that Jessica is the hacker. She tries to explain her actions, blaming gender inequality for her criminal behavior and claiming that she did it to prove her worth to her brother. Spencer doesn’t believe her and secretly records her confession on John's voicemail using his phone. In a moment of panic, Jessica shoots and kills Spencer. Meanwhile, John survives after his ship crashes into the Pacific Ocean. He searches for Spencer but cannot find him. When John listens to Spencer's voicemail, he hears Jessica confessing to the murders of Charles and Desmond. Furious, John prepares for a final confrontation. He chases Jessica’s fleeing car using a traditional jetpack. The AI intervenes and locks Jessica's car's acceleration, causing her to crash directly into a brick wall, killing her. Before she dies, Jessica apologizes to John for her actions and admits her feelings for him. John acknowledges that he shares those feelings but prioritizes his safety. Jessica dies, and John is celebrated for his bravery. He secures a substantial settlement for Spencer's family and pledges to honor his father’s legacy by striving to reach for the stars and pursue his dreams.
