Synopsis/Details
When a devout but fractured man named Juda is visited at 3:00 a.m. by a cryptic stranger carrying a suitcase and a vintage radio, his world begins to unravel. Still haunted by the recent suicide of his wife Rebecca, Juda learns from the visitor that his daughter Tahara is next — the Devil is coming to claim her soul.
Desperate to protect her, Juda spirals into a hallucinatory battle between faith and madness. As unsettling figures reappear, time refuses to move, and a sinister naked man looms ever-present, Juda’s grip on reality disintegrates. Tahara resists his urgency, challenging the very beliefs he holds sacred, revealing hidden traumas and deep-seated guilt rooted in both their pasts.
As night stretches endlessly, Juda is faced with horrifying truths about his own actions — and the line between protector and monster blurs. The nightmare builds to a chilling climax where Juda must confront not only the evil at his door, but the darkness within himself.
Backslider is a psychological horror rooted in grief, generational trauma, and the twisted cost of blind faith.
